John Farrell started in the construction industry when he was 14 years old, mostly for pocket money in the summertime. He worked for Myers as a general laborer for 3 summers while in school.  Once finished with college, He chose to stay in construction and transitioned to full-time at Myers on a concrete crew where I worked for 4 years.

In 1994 he had the opportunity to start his own concrete construction business.  Had some ups and downs, mostly downs, with turns in the housing market in the late 90’s and wound up working for a local concrete company as a plant operator for 5 years.

In 2003 he returned to Allan Myers as a general laborer again, for a short while, then eventually got into a Field Manager role where he ran a crew for about 4 years.

In 2007, He was interviewed and was given the opportunity to join the safety department at Allan Myers.  For the next 10 years, He was a HSE Manager working on Allan Myers project sites and working with Allan Myers’ project teams to plan and implement safety into the work face.  In those 10 years he worked on projects ranging from $200,000 – $2,000,000.  Small road widening projects that finished up in a couple months to major highway projects that took several years to complete.

In 2016 he was asked to take on the role of HSE Training Manager.  In the training manager role, He was responsible for writing and facilitating current compliance safety training classes, and also making sure other HSE trainers are delivering the same consistent message across the company footprint.
