  • Class capacity: no more than 40 students
  • Participation: Participants must complete pre-tests, post-tests, and evaluations. For virtual sessions, a two-way audio and visual connection is required.
  • Platform: For virtual training, we use GoToTraining, for registration, attendance, pre-tests, post-tests, participation, and evaluation, as our grantor requests us to control the training process.

This free course is offered by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA, www.artba.org).

This four-hour comprehensive course addresses the critical safety challenges in roadway construction, including:

  • Runovers and Backovers: This section provides strategies and plans to reduce traffic incidents inside and outside the work zones, which are the main cause of fatalities in the roadway construction industry.
  • Overexertion: Gain insights into preventing the most common cause of medical attention in construction workers.
  • Heat Hazards: Discover ways to combat the risks of working in high temperatures.



This course is supported by ARTBA and the OSHA Harwood grant. According to the grantor, this training is open to private industry workers, aspiring roadway construction professionals, and U.S. government workers in this sector. After registration, if approved, learners will receive an email with instructions to participate in the training. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the training.
